I'm New

We are so glad you are here!

Our Story

The Compass Church was established in 1905 in the small town of Selma. For over a hundred years, our church has faithfully served our community & surrounding areas. In 2009, we launched our first campus in Yorktown & have now grown to three locations in Selma, Yorktown, & Winchester.

Our goal is to help families find their way home. We want to welcome you to a church community where you find people to do your life with & learn what it means to know God personally.

On Sunday mornings, we offer a relaxed environment with contemporary worship & practical messages that can be applied to your life. Our Compass Kids team is ready to provide your kids (infants to elementary) a fun & meaningful experience while you are enjoying worship.

Our Mission

Make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, & witness boldly

Christ-Centered:  Be a church where Jesus Christ is at the center of everything we believe and do.

Disciple-Making:  Be a church where helping people become authentic followers of Jesus is our main purpose.

World-Transforming:  Be a church where the transformation of individuals, communities, & cultures to be like Christ is our chief desire.

Our Vision

Make reaching, teaching, & serving disciples of Jesus Christ

Reaching: We believe the best way to reach people for Jesus is to build relationships with them. We believe that Jesus is the best example of an intentional friend. He purposely built relationships with all types of people so that He could share the love of the Father with them.

Teaching: We believe this happens through teaching that the Bible is the infallible Word of God. We believe that God’s Word contains everything needed for salvation, as well as what it means to be a Christian.

Serving: We believe the greatest expression of God's love is to serve others. We challenge & expect Christians to passionately serve in ministry area where they feel called.
